About The Campaign

The PATH is the lifeblood of Hudson County – connecting residents to work, family and commerce. Each and every day, hundreds of thousands of people use the mass transit system to commute to their jobs, visit friends or make their way to shopping districts.

Spanning 13.8 miles of route mileage, the PATH is links New Jersey with Manhattan under the Hudson River. It provides service to Hoboken, Jersey City, Harrison and Newark. Operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the PATH runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. During normal hours, the PATH operates 4 train services, serving 8 stops in New Jersey and 6 more in Manhattan. PATH service connects people to the New York Subway System, Newark Light Rail and Hudson-Bergen Light Rail. However, operating independently from one another, there are no free transfers among these disparate systems.

Hoboken Councilman Peter Cammarano is leading the charge to keep the PATH affordable for the nearly 230,000 riders who use the rapid transit system every day.

With global warming, clogged roads and our nation’s dangerous dependence on foreign oil, Peter believes we should be incentivizing public transportation – not punishing those who use the PATH.
